Dutch Oven
Something spicy from the Dutch Oven! If you are looking for the perfect chili, why not try our recipe for the savoury hot dish? There are numerous versions of the combination of meat and beans with spicy flavour. We show you how you easily prepare your chili in the Petromax Dutch Oven and also add a little something with some dark chocolate.
Ingredients
- 600 g beef
- 200 g minced pork
- 200 g Chorizo
- 1 onion (medium size)
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 chilli pods
- 100 g tomato purée
- 1 tsp. caraway
- 1/2 tsp. tarragon (ground)
- 1/2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tbsp. pepper
- 3/4 tbsp. oregano (rubbed)
- 1.5 tbsp. mixed spices (red pepper)
- 1.5 tbsp. parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
- 60 g dark chocolate (chopped)
- 250 ml beer
- 150 ml malt beer
- 1.5 cans red beans
Preparation
1. Peel and dice onions and garlic cloves; cut beef into small dice and slice the Chorizo, chop the chili pods.Â
2. Sear the beef in the Dutch Oven, remove and set aside.
3. Roast mince with the onions and the garlic. Afterwards, add all other ingredients together with the beef to the Dutch Oven and close the lid.
4. Let simmer for 120 minutes and stir occasionally. Add parsley just before serving.
