What is Petromax Loden?
Petromax Loden is a strong fabric for campfire & adventure, because it consists of 100 % milled sheep's wool – mulesing free, sustainable and without additives. For centuries already, Loden fabrics are known as resilient textiles for outdoor clothing and are utilised until today, for instance as hunting garments. Fabric manufacture takes place in Germany following traditional methods in several complex work stages. First spun, then woven and finally milled in water under high pressure: Thus, extremely compressed the natural material Petromax Loden becomes truly strong, dimensionally stable, spark-resistant and repellent against water and wind. This way your Petromax Loden clothing achieves the highest quality and reliably supports you during active adventure operation under the open sky.
How do I care for Petromax Loden properly?
Your Loden adventure wear is easy to care for and endures your adventures for years to come, if you observe the following tips:
After use in sweaty and spark-emitting expeditions a simple airing suffices to regain fresh smell. As Loden fabric is odour-inhibiting it does not absorb body or smoke odour into the material. You can dryly brush out rough dirt such as mud easily with a clothes brush. Usually washing is not necessary. If, however, your exploration tours have in fact been as intensive, that brushing does not suffice any more, you can use the specially developed Bio Hand Washing Detergent or have your Loden garments dry-cleaned. You can gladly iron your Petromax Loden to preserve its water-resistant properties. Adjust your iron to medium and smooth out your garment surface with low pressure. You should cover logo and lettering embroidery with ironing paper.
